The 2025 IEEE 8th International Electrical and Energy Conference (CIEEC 2025) Successfully Held in Changsha

The 2025 IEEE 8th International Electrical and Energy Conference (CIEEC 2025), jointly hosted by the Chinese Electrotechnical Society (CES), the IEEE Beijing Section, and Hunan University, with technical support from the IEEE Industry Applications Society, was held in Changsha from 16 to 18 May 2025. The event attracted more than 800 experts and scholars from over 120 universities, enterprises, and research institutions worldwide.

             The Opening Ceremony

This year, CIEEC 2025 received over 700 paper submissions from nine countries and regions. Over the course of two and a half days, the conference featured an opening ceremony, keynote speeches, invited tutorial sessions, and a series of parallel technical forums. In total, 32 oral sessions and one poster session facilitated academic exchange, covering more than 40 specialized fields within electrical engineering and energy science.

Keynote Speech by Prof. Saifur Rahman

Invited keynote addresses were delivered by Prof. Saifur Rahman, former IEEE President and CEO and an IEEE Life Fellow; Prof. John Shen, NAI Fellow, IEEE Fellow, and Dean of the School of Mechatronic Systems Engineering at Simon Fraser University, Canada; Dr. Yi Zhang, Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering; Prof. Jiazheng Lu, Dean of the School of Electrical and Information Engineering at Changsha University of Science and Technology; and Prof. Xiongfei Wang, IEEE Fellow at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden. Together they shared the latest advances in research and engineering practice.

Keynote Speeches 

On the afternoon of 16 May, seven invited tutorials were delivered. Throughout the conference, Attendees engaged in 32 parallel oral sessions on cutting-edge topics, a full-scale poster session, the IEEE PCCC Women Scientists Forum, the China–UK Net-Zero Forum, and a series of special demonstrations and an industry exhibition zone. Best Paper authors were formally commended during the closing ceremony.
