On October 18, 2022, the China Electrotechnical Society (CES) and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) signed a Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) at the CES Beijing headquarters. The purpose of the memorandum is to strengthen cooperation between both sides in academic exchanges, engineering education certification, mutual recognition of members, journal publication, technology awards, and many others. Secretary General of the CES Yi Han signed the MOU with Mr. Paulo Lopes, the China Country Head and Director of the IET. Mr. Yanan Dou, Director of the CES International Cooperation Department, Ms. Zhenzhen Li, Manager of the IET Business Development, and relevant personnel from CES attended the signing ceremony.
Mr. Lopes and Mr. Han both expressed their delight at the success of signing the MOU, and hoped for better established and solidified cooperation relations between CES and IET.
Under the MOU, both sides plan to conduct in-depth cooperation in areas, including foreign member recruitment, international engineering certification, academic exchanges, S&T journal publication and personnel training.

IET Beijing office established in 2005 is a wholly owned subsidiary of IET UK and is authorized to engage in IET activities in China.
