CES Led a delegation to participate in the 36th  International Electric Vehicle Symposium 

On June 11, the 36th EVS36 was solemnly opened at SAFE Credit Union Convention Center in Sacramento.Organized by the World Electric Vehicle Association (WEVA) and the Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA), the convention arranged more than 40 sessions of invited presentations, industrial forums, round table discussions, poster presentations, exhibition displays, test drives and other experiential activities. The conference has received over 400 papers and more than 150 businesses had attended this exhibition, with the total exhibition size of nearly 10,000 square meters.

Prof. Qingquan Chen, Special Advisor of CES and Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Xuhui Wen, Chairman of Electric Vehicle Committee of CES and Researcher of IEE, Lifang Wang, Secretary General of Electric Vehicle Committee of CES, Researcher of IEE, and Yanan Dou, Director of International Cooperation Department of CES as well as other members  participated in the conference and attended the concurrent meeting of the members of Electric Vehicle Association of the Asia Pacific (EVAAP) and the member meetings of the World Electric Vehicle Association (WEVA).

The EVAAP member meeting and the WEVA member meeting were held on the afternoon of June 11. The EVAAP member meeting took place in the SAFE Credit Union Conference Center. It was chaired by Prof. Myoungho Sunwoo, Chairperson-in-Office of EVAAP and Hanyang University, Korea, who firstly welcomed all of the attendees and introduced the preparations for the 37th EVS37. Subsequently, representatives of APEA members from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand and other countries and regions presented the overview of the domestic development of electric vehicles. Academician Qingquan Chen introduced the achievements and future development trend of China in the field of electric vehicles. Finally, Prof. Myoungho Sunwoo mentioned the current development of EVS Asia Pacific members and cordially invited them to attend EVS37 which to be held in Seoul, Korea 2024.

EVAAP memebr meeting

The WEVA member meeting was held and it was hosted by the chairwomen of WEVA as well as the Electric Drive Transportation Association, Mrs. Genevieve Cullen. Then, Ms. Amy Russell and Ms. Christine Rogala, the Organizing Committee of EVS36, introduced the overall schedule of EVS36 and the situation of investment promotion, exhibition invitation, paper submission and some related activities, respectively. In the following free discussion session, matters related to the association were discussed and adopted.

WEVA member meeting

On the morning of June 14, Academician Qingquan Chen delivered a wonderful speech at the closing ceremony of the 36th World Electric Vehicle Conference, in which he clearly pointed out the direction of global electric vehicle development and China's achievements in new energy vehicles in terms of the roadmap for the development of electric vehicles, opportunities and challenges it faced, and the vision for the future. Academician Qingquan Chen summarized the four rules for the rapid and healthy development of electric vehicles: first, it should be driven by innovation; second, it should be driven by both policy and market; third, it should have "three good things" - good products, good infrastructure and good business models; fourth, it should be driven by transportation network, energy network, information network as well as the humanity network.

The International Electric Vehicle Symposium (EVS) is organized by The Electric Vehicle Association of Asia Pacific (EVAAP), The European Association for Electromobility (AVERE) and Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA) rotationally and it is the reputed conference in the field of electric vehicle which is the largest in scale and has the widest influence at present. As a member of EVAAP, CES actively participates in EVS related activities, always insists on strengthening communication and cooperation with the majority of scientific and technological workers and entrepreneurs in the field of electric vehicles, and actively fulfills the responsibilities and obligations of the members of the Asia-Pacific Electric Vehicle Association and the organization of the World Electric Vehicle Association by building a platform of communication and cooperation around the direction of electric vehicle technology development, innovation achievements, and industrial development, and contributes the China's wisdom and strength to promote the development of world electric vehicle technology. The CES had successfully held EVS16, EVS25 and EVS34 in 1999, 2010 and 2021 respectively, and will continue to organize experts and scholars from enterprises and institutions in the field of electric vehicles in China to attend EVS37 which will be held in Seoul, Korea in 2024.
