The 2026 IEEE 9th International Electrical and Energy Conference (CIEEC 2026) was successfully held in Tianjin from May 15 to 17, 2026. The event brought together over 600 experts and scholars from 11 countries and regions, including China, Italy, the UK, Portugal, Greece, Ireland, and South Africa.

The two-and-a-half-day conference featured an opening ceremony, keynote speeches, technical tutorials, and parallel forums. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on key topics such as new power systems, smart power distribution, power electronics, motor systems, and intelligent electrical equipment.
At the opening ceremony, Conference Chair and CAE Academician Wang Chengshan, CES Party Secretary and Vice Chairman Hou Rui, and Tianjin University Vice President Li Bin delivered addresses. The ceremony was hosted by CES Secretary General Guo Zhenyan.
Keynote speakers included Professor Carlo Alberto Nucci (University of Bologna), Professor Nikos Hatziargyriou (NTUA), Professor Vladimir Terzija (Newcastle University), Professor Zita Vale (Polytechnic of Porto), and Professor Chi Yongning (China Electric Power Research Institute), who shared the latest research findings.
The conference also organized four technical tutorials, over 40 parallel sub-forums, poster sessions, the IEEE PES Women in Engineering Forum, and the China-UK Net Zero Forum. An exhibition featuring companies and academic journals facilitated lively technical exchanges.
At the conference banquet, Professor Liu Hong of Tianjin University reviewed the key achievements. Certificates were presented to outstanding paper authors, and Vice Chairman Hou Rui presented a commemorative trophy to Vice President Li Bin in recognition of Tianjin University’s contributions.
Initiated by the China Electrotechnical Society and recognized as an annual IEEE series event, CIEEC serves as a vital international platform for academic exchange, technology transfer, and collaboration in the field of electrical and energy engineering.
